Advanced Systems Concepts, Inc. (ASCI) was founded in 1981 by Ben Rosenberg as a software engineering and consulting company specializing in the development of strategic system software management solutions. With an initial focus on the development of mission critical applications, ASCI introduced products for high-performance transaction processing, which were subsequently licensed to HP (then Digital Equipment Corporation), ultimately becoming the heart of their transaction processing strategy in the commercial sector. Later products reduced the time to recovery in the event of a site or system loss and have become the solution of choice for OpenVMS Disaster Recovery. These products gained new visibility when organizations like Dresdner Kleinwort were back up and running at their remote site in less than an hour after the September 11th attacks.
