In January 2000, Wellcoaches founded the first coaching school for health and wellness professionals, with a vision of creating a new health professional who is expert in facilitating behavior change. Wellcoaches has defined the cutting edge and the gold standard for high impact, evidence-based, and innovative education, training, and certification. We provide the tools and skills to become game-changing professionals in corporate, healthcare, military, and consumer well-being. We have trained more than 14,000 coaches in over 50 countries and now train 1,200 coaches per year.
Our 22-year journey in designing and testing coaching protocols, training models, and skills assessment, pursuing research and unifying standards, helped enable CPT codes for health and well-being coaching, naming the coach as a healthcare professional, launched in January 2020. We are an NBHWC approved training program and have trained over 1,000 nationally board-certified coaches, with a 94.5% pass rate on the exam.
We created the first coaching textbook in healthcare, the Coaching Psychology Manual, endorsed by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, the American College of Sports Medicine and the Australasian Society for Lifestyle Medicine.
