ACA reporting requirements include providing detailed information on health coverage offered to employees, such as who was offered coverage, the type of coverage, and the costs.


When is ACA Reporting due?

ACA reporting has multiple deadlines - businesses must provide forms to employees and file forms with the IRS. The IRS has granted a permanent 30-day extension from the January 31 deadline for businesses subject to ACA tracking to distribute Form 1095-C to their employees. Forms 1094-C, and 1095-C are due to the IRS for paper filing by February 28, 2024. For electronic filing, the deadline is April 1, 2024.


Who is Required to do ACA Reporting?

Employers with 50 or more full-time employees, known as Applicable Large Employers (ALEs), are required to do ACA reporting. These employers must submit annual reports to the IRS on the health coverage provided to their employees and their dependents.
